Fly fishing for PA trout since the turn of the century!

     About Team GFR
During the spring of the year 2000, although we were not yet aware of it, Team GFR was born.  GFR stands for "Greenwood Furnace Revival" - which is named for the state park where the Team gathers to "revive" for a week every spring.  We are fly fishermen who pursue trout with the utmost respect to them and their environment, and all are caught on hooks without barbs and are quickly returned to the water unharmed.

As it stands, Team GFR is little more than a concept and a way to extend the fun and enjoyment of fly fishing.  It represents our shared sense of humor and the refusal to take ourselves too seriously, evidenced by our nicknames and numerous catch phrases.  The Team casts a wary eye upon the current state of affairs in the world of fly fishing and seeks to ensure that fellow fishermen truly appreciate their waterways and the trout that swim within them.  It's how we do.
     Pennsylvania County Attainment
Rules of Attainment
For the fly fisherman, Pennsylvania is a wonderful state in which to live.  From tailwater fisheries to fertile limestone valleys to heavily-canopied mountain gorges, countless fishing opportunities abound throughout the Commonwealth.  The quest of "attainment" entails catching and releasing a trout in each of Pennsylvania's 67 counties.  Wild trout are highly preferred, but a stocked fish will qualify just the same.  Of course, rules had to be established to properly govern these endeavors and define exactly what it means to "catch a trout"...
